I would bet that future models will have a 1394 port, without it, sales
will be very low - consumer demand will dictate and rule!

I had it with an MDS-JE510 two years ago this month. It's a potential

You could take the really cheap option and get one of those cassette
adaptors for an existing portable - they sound pretty good for about au$30

I saw an Aiwa 5 CD, 5 MD shelf unit that records to minidisc. I also
saw a Sony unit that does high speed cd to Md dubbing. (I think it
held three cds and 3 mds, but I may be wrong.)
I was wondering if anyone has heard of a carousel unit tha will handle,
say 100 or so Minidiscs?

You can't. The LIP-8 is the only battery that will suit the R50. Unless
there's an aftermarket manufacturer who would like to prove me wrong, there
is no such thing as a greater capacity Li-Ion battery for the MZ-R50.

The Sharp 702 has an optional external battery pack that holds AA batteries
and extends the life of the LION battery that is in the unit and
rechargeable. The 702 is also very inexpensive as you can buy a new one for

Yes, I have noticed problems with this format as well as all other
consumer grade formats that I doubt the DV Cam could improve much on. No
matter what I do, even with the TRV900, colors are never completely
accurate and video played back on TV comes much closer to looking like

I just recently bought a Sony MDBUNDLE6 to start myself down the MD

Seems rather short sighted of them. Mabye someone could wright a small
