Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on the Sony MXD-D5C and the Sony MDS-JB940. I
picked up a D5C for a really good price, and that's why I'm considering
keeping it (I actually bought 2 of them...using one, other brand new in
box). What really bugs me about the D5C is the lack of a

BTW- both (all) Sony data drives have been discontinued. The last
drives were manufactured in 1995. It is still possible to find used
and sometimes even new ones on places like eBay. I might

I think the terratec DMX is one awesome sound card. I have it hooked up to
my HIFI system and it puts a lot of sound cards to shame. It's well worth
the $200 IMHO.

Hi, I just got a Sony MDM111 (Internal MD Data Drive) adn I need
to find some PC drivers for it (specifically NT 4.0). Does anybody
have the files, or some sort of link? there is absolutely no info
about this drive on the MDCP.
Thanks,

I think everybody here would be glad to erceive a copy of this
software that you have. It sounds like just the thing that all of us
have been waiting for. Please let us (me) know how we can get this
for ourselves.

Hey- refurb isn't so bad. I got an AIWA AM-F70 for only 183.00
(w/shipping) off Onsale.com. It hasn't given me any trouble more
than one disc error. I really like this unit, and I've had it for 7
months now, and you still cannot get it new for that price.
eD
It is not distorted. Cd's can be gritty and harsh unless you have good
equiment. and many cd's are poorly recorded.

Could possibly be the discs. Try using a different brand of blank
and see if that makes any difference. Also, are you playing the
discs back on the same deck that you recorded them on (mds-330
I think)? That also could make a difference.

I agree with LAS in the sense that MD and Mp3's involve compression. So do
cd's for that matter. Cant wait to get my hands on SACD and DVD-audio.
Supposedly, they match the fullness and warmth of LP's.

It would be impossible for the R90 to actually spin the disc slower.
If it did, it would not have enought headway to fill the buffer and play
music. What it does, is slowly spin up the disc (smooth
acceleration) instead of starting it of at full speed. That saves
battery juice. So what you

Corrections-
Balanced is not digital - Balanced is a type of analog
connection. However, an AES-EBU digital connection uses the
same XLR cable for transfering. But this does not mean that the
two are the same.
Unbalanced is also not digital - It is a coaxial analog

96kpbs is nowhere near "CD-quality". If you get up to about 256 or
