December. Does anyone know when the Sharp units will be available? More
specifically I will be in London in December and wanted to know if it will
be possible to buy the Sony or Sharp units before Christmas (as a p

Hi Folks,
I've heard from reasonably reliable sources that NetMD will *not*
support audio upload from MD to PC (what has looked like upload so far
has just been "check-in"). So, I'm considering petitioning Sony to add
the feature. Before doing so, I think it's wise to hash things out and
see if
All right since some of us are looking forward to NetMD, I have hopefully a
simple yet interesting question. NetMD will be encoded by software (please
correct me if i'm wrong). We currently have an ATRAC 3 codec

Hi,
I could be wrong, but is this the first NetMD player/recorder shown at
http://mdman.net/md/welcome.htm (on the left side)?

Hey there, I'm new to the list and I have a couple of questions about NetMD
:)
Firstly, I was reading the press release - when they say that NetMD will be
backwards compatible with older minidiscs, do they mean that old MD
recordings will play on new NetMD portables, or that NetMD recordings wil

netmd was going to be released. anyone have any info on this or did i skip
over that section? or will it be like so many other sony promises and

Agreed. This is pretty much what I've been waiting for, and why I

I agree totally. Bitwise reduction, not to say compression, was what made me
hesitate for several years before adopting the MD technology, and I know
many people for whom this is still a real obstacle
I myself see three effects that this NetMD is going to cause.

That wasn't intended as a correction, and I'm sorry if it sounded that way.

You are correct I used the wrong model number. And I used to be a hard ass for
details, correcting every one who said Sony MZ-R1 instead of M-Z1. I guess I'm
getting mellow in my old age.
