A lot depends on the oil you use - especially with waste oil. When I was working out the bugs I carried 5 gallons of diesel in the trunk with enough hose to reach to the injector pump in case I got stranded. That was enough to get the car started and warmed up. Never fill the tank more that 3/4

That sounds about right, Marshall. The model year (say, 1987) is built from July of the preceding year to about May/June of the next year. So, the 1987 model year is in production from approximately July 1986 through June 1987, give or take a month. Your Nov-87 build date would be in the middle.
