I replaced the brushes of a blower fan on my previous 124, a few years ago. I recall removal of the wiper assembly was not as bad as it first looks. But the brushes were only half the problem with the fan. The bearings were bad and the shaft was corroded. I did not have the time or to buy a n

Yes, could be the porcupine thing (regulator I think is the correct term), could be the fan, could be the PBU. Only way to know is to remove all the stuff above it (rubber seals, ducting, mono wiper, more ducting) and test the motor directly by applying 12v. Leave the motor mounted for that
