Yes and no... Last I checked diesel was $4.05 and gas was $3.70, thats a difference of $0.75, so diesel is 20% more expensive than gas. Diesel fuel has about 30% more energy than gas so you pay 20 to get 30. In the Dodge pickup the difference is important, people will say the diesel is $4000

I'm not sure why, as later models used an external microswitch to sense the lock position. You couldn't get stuff on it from spraying the cylinder down if you wanted to. For that matter, W123, W124 and W126 models didn't do anything with the alarm and lock cylinders that I know of, unless it

I can't say for sure but the forward speed under power is only about 35 mph. If there is a flat spot ahead you can glide it in for a rolling landing on the wheels. The airframe is pretty light so a vertical landing should be like sport parachuting with the airframe absorbing much of the impact.
