I had a set on my 1970 280S, and they were really lousy as far as function was
concerned. They did look nice, however.

Maybe I'm remembering this from my 300SD rather than my 300TD.
MB has a crappy drawing that in no way resembles this part (and they want $60
list for it, too.)
Thanks!

Yes, it's an affliction, for sure. I suffered from this earlier in life, it
went into remission, and now I have it full on.
Kleb's such a good guy for offering. Unfortunately, that price does not include
a title.
And it shakes when starts, too.

I posted the part number for the M119 buffers which appear to be identical and
list for $6/each from Mercedes yesterday. I would not pay $24 for the "real"
buffers.
I'm trying to find one of the "flat" breather tubes that they used to sell as a
retrofit. Apparently they didn't go over well or
cantly better than

I like the idea of having the underground locator service guys come and look.
They would only identify utility lines, however, so they might not mark
anything else.

Nothing to report from yesterday in the way of work.
My house painter called at 8:00 am and said his crew was on their way (we
hadn't scheduled a start date yet) so when I got home I had to spend my time
removing all the exterior fixtures as I had promised to do before they started.

Me too. The color-keyed aluminum wheel covers are so much more refined.
