Kaleb, Your reply in the list was uncalled for: *Even in the opinion of

From the factory this adjustment screw is fitted with a plug, which has

What I do not understand is with the two postings I have place recently why

Hey Robb,
I'm pretty new to the list, and bought a '88 300E about 6 months ago. It
passed but was burning oil at the time. Why your's didn't pass could be any
one of many reasons. I've always found, just before a test, clean plugs
gapped right, clean oil, and make sure the car is good and hot

after doing a spark plug regap - fuel filter - air cleaner - vacumn lines I

So is the 93 300E 2.8 an M103 or an M104? As I recall, 1993 was the
change-over year for the 3.0, but don't know about the 2.8. Big
difference in ignition systems.

High HCs on fuel-injected gassers is often just something as simple as
a loose vacuum line!
Too much air coming in, so the dumb computer adds extra fuel to match,
and it all goes out the tailpipe.
Eh, didn't think of that. Wouldn't that cause a check engine light though?
Seems to me that
Wait ... what? We have emissions tests?

Yup. Porter and Lake Counties. I believe Clark County had it, but apparently no
more. I live in Portage, at the Southern tip of Lake Michigan.

Yes, you can pull codes out of a 93, anything over 90 actually.
