When I worked for the school district I spoke to one of our staff locksmiths
(yes, the place was so big they had two locksmiths on staff full time.) I
asked him about getting MB keys duped along with some other lock related
questions. He said that WD-40

the best lubricant for locks. I don't know if it affects a locks

I have had great success with a product called TriFlo. It is a mixture of
teflon particles and a liquid carrier agent in a spray can, the liquid
evaporates leaving the tiny teflon particles behind to lubricate. The
advantage is, it leaves nothing to collect or attract dirt and dust.
