Several vireos were singing loudly along Wirth Lake this morning.
No Purple Martins have yet arrived to take up residence in the new house we
erected for them. We've played attraction calls for two weeks several
hours most days. Plenty of swifts but no martins yet.

On the east side of the Wilderness Area (from Hwy 20), a singing Wood
Thrush in the nearly bare branches of the trees in the ravine.
False Rue Anemone covered the ground; a few Dutchmen's Breeches blooming.
House Wrens, Overbirds and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks also singing this
morning.

Many yellow-rumped warblers, a few orange-crowned, a black-and-white and a
single pine warbler in Eloise Butler Garden this morning. I also saw a
ruby-crowned kinglet in the same flock.
The spring ephemerals are starting to bloom in the garden.

The dog flushed a Meadowlark from a small, swampy park near Bassett Creek
