While installing Mandrake 7.0-2, the install found my Diamond Fireport SCSI adapter. However, when it asked if I had any other SCSI devices, I said "no." Now the SCSI CD-Rom and CD Writer are not seen by the Lothar HW config application, and I can't mount them. "may not be a block device"
