My Linux box is behind a proxy server (wingate NT).

Could someone please confirm if the following conclusions are correct:
First there is LILO that needs a /boot partition before cylinder 1024;
Then there is Grub that doesn't have this limitation.
But, if your hd is LBA, then there won't be a problem

rpm --rebuilddb

I did install within the FAT extended partition and as predicted it messed
up the MBR and partition table. But I was able to fix things. :-)
Then I deleted the Linux partitions and shrunk the DOS extended partition
and installed in the free space beyond and that install went fine

Select Xterm or the command line, and type in: kdesu -c kmenuedit
Press the 'Enter' key.

Option 2
Log in as 'root'.

When I send (or send queued ) the msg comes up that it's being sent, then quickly
disappears. The msg is still in the outbox. It is not in the sent-mail box.

Make sure that telnetd and ftpd are installed. You can do this by
putting the Mandrake cd in the drive, mounting it (mount /mnt/cdrom), going
into the RPMS dir (cd /mnt/cdrom/Mandrake/RPMS), then trying to install the
rpm. I can't remember what it's called right off hand, but try typing
rpm

Not true. Open up port 4000. But that might not allow direct
connections (chat) but you can still message. Better yet get a
firewall proxy that supports ICQ in fully like Sygate. I use it and
ICQ works great.

downloaded the qt2 rpm at the location someone told me above and it works

After weeks of fighting to get TurboLinux 6 to work correctly (too many
problems to list) I dumped it and went to Mandrake 7.1What a difference!
In 2 hours, it was installed, the printer was working and I was on the
internet without a hiccup. Now I can spend my time trying to learn Linux
