Qualcuno ha capito come si installa la mandrake 7.2 su una scheda madre con
chipset Intel 815e (Asus CUSL2)?

Controlla che da bios non sia abilitata la funzione "Plug And Play OS".
Poi entra come root,e senza far pardire X scrivi sndconfig.

Thanks to all who've replied, but I'm still not there.
Updated the locate database, searched again with locate sndconfig in a
console as root and searched from Konquerer as root. sndconfig is not on
my installation, so can I get it somewhere or is there another tool I could
use?

have the 2.2.17 and my epson Perfecto 1200USB scanner is working fine.
The mandrake kernel has the patch to have the USB running.

AVPLinux is the Kaspersky AntiVirus Program for Linux. It allows a linux

Most likely you need to enter the DNS server addresses. That is picked up
by DHCP in Win9x, but if I'm not mistaken, Linux needs to have it specified.
If you can't ping www.yahoo.com, but you *can* ping 204.71.200.74 (the
address that www.yahoo.com resolves to on my box) then that's the issue.
Actually, DHCP picks it up for me in Linux...I never specified my DNS
numbers, or IP, or anything...not even the host name. Do you have DHCP
turned on?

shell script to start it. Kdevelop starts but fails to build any project
types.
During the create project phase I'm told that there is an error in
configure.in and that the qt 2.2.1 libraries have not been found
i have just upgrade to kde2.0.1 and i have found that the 'eject' options off
the right click menu for my cdrom desktop icons no longer work, mount and
unmount still work but the 'eject' option was really handy (mount will still
close the tray)

developers (never used Gnome but I bet they've put lots of blood, sweat and tears into
it as well) is something that I for one bristle at.
The configurability of the KDE interface is clearly deeper than you

What are you using to scan? My USB scanner is detected according to
HardDrake, though it does say "Kernel Module: unknown" in the description.
When I try using xscanimage with the GIMP, it says "xscanimage: no
devices available." Are you using some different program, or is my scanner
