You could get one of those iddy bity little distros that fit on a floppy.
I've tried several and muLinux is great. You can even dial up and surf the
internet with lynx and do email and ng with mutt if it has a modem. You can
run it from the floppy (in ram actually), but with 4 megs...hmmm.
I seem to use my computer as much remotely as I do locally. In addition, I
use PPPoE to run my internet connection and there are times when it gets
wonky. I was just wondering if there was a perl script or something out
there that I could set in my crontab to mail me me ifconfig file every 15

Hi,
What is your default run-level when you boot into
linux?? If my memory serves, I think that runlevels 3
and 5 start up network devices. You can check if this
is so by looking in "/etc/inittab". This should then
laod up all your networking devices.
Does this answer your question??

Dear Marcia:
You need to install it as root:
$su

then install it as follows:
#./nameoffile.bin
Then go back as user and install it as user:

This will bring up the RealPlay dialogue box for you as user. I think I
am right. I may be wrong since I am still using Real Pl
