When you do an ftp install you boot up your computer with a linux boot disk, and
you must have internet connection at that point. Is that possible in your setup?

This way you can do your ftp install local. But I would buy a cd burner in the long

e PM6, if you click
yes then you just hosed your Linux partition. I have Linux on a second hard
drive using ReiserFS. PM6 works fine like this (for altering Windows
partitions) since it doesn't prompt me to correct the file system on the
second (Linux) hard drive.

I like the Gnome/IceWM combo too, but unlike Sawmill I can't get the
options menu to open (grayed out). It works under my Debian box, so what
did I miss. I thought I hadn't installed menu, but I did. Any ideas anyone?

I have tried to install Linux-Mandrake 6.1 on a 13
GB Quantum Fireball CX1 hard disk with a Promise Ultra66 hard disk controller. I
used the Ultra66 RedHat Linux 6.0 Driver partitionising the hard disk.
Everything seemed to go well. But I can't create a linux boot floppy or install

I crash the KDE so hard that the only option I had was to reset my PC.
(After waiting 30 minutes) I got the login screen of the X window.
The login screen was changed (not the standard mandrake login) and had only
one login option left (the KDE environment).
Before the crash I had about 7 login op
Maybe you can shutdown the xserver by ctrl+alt+backspace
