If you are going to wipe disk and start over may I make a suggestion? I have seen some strange behavior by M$ version of fdisk. Including the problem you are having... use fdisk from withing linux to REMOVE all partition and then reboot. Using your dos boot disk with fdisk on ot do fdisk /mbr
