Since this involves formatting (the internal structure of the format is
different) I think it is simple (an

Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com
Does mandrake use the Linux ext2 file system?
Because I have a copy of partition magic 6.0 and it is supposed to understand
the partition and it is not demonstrating it that way to me.

I don't know what "peanut Linux" is, but most distros have an install
routine that will make your partition and write the ext2 fs on it. If
you have some kind of minimum size Linux (judging by the name) you
could still use RedHat or Mandrake install disk to partition and write
the fs, and then

Peanut Linux is a micro-version of the OS to use in small devices. It
will fit on a floppy.

Sorry never mind. Just found it, thanks.

I have a drive I am trying to put peanut linux on. I need the drive to be
ext2. Can anyone direct me as to how to do this. I only have win machines up
right now (as far as a bootable disk.) Thanks
Yep, I've resized all over the place using PM 4; just bought PM 5, haven't
tried with that one yet.

Greetings!
Is it safe to increase my Mandrake 7.1 ext2 partition using PartitionM
Magic under Win98?
If not, how can I do it without destroying my present ext2 partition?
Thank you for your help.
I heard some where that it was more work for linux to read/write to a FAT32 partition
than it was to read/write to EXT2 partitions.
Is there some truth to it? Also, is it faster for the system to not have any FAT32
partitions on the drive?

As for the directory situation, yes, everything will be
created for you.

I let "Making ext2 filesytem on /dev/hdb1" run for an hour and a half on
a new 3.2G. I have a P166, 48 RAM, Ultra HD. The filesystem never did
finish, it continued to read "Runnng". Did I wait long enough, if so
what can I do to fix the problem?
