Dear Barry:
Thanks so much. I just noticed the javarc which you attached to your
original message. I copied it, installed it in office52/user/config,
clicked on Bookmarks, Java, then JavaSetup. SO52 instantly recognized
it, I exited and returned, tested the Java, and, yes, it works
perfectly.

Dear Barry:
OK, thanks for the /usr tip. Will untar the JDK 2.1.3 there and see what
happens.

Dear Barry and friends:
Well, I just untarred Java 118_v3 in /usr, then went to StarOffice,
Bookmarks, Java, JavaSetup and once again got the error message "Can't
find javarc.
Here is the data:
[sher@adsl-77-232-124 sher]$ cd /usr [sher@adsl-77-232-124 /usr]$ ls

I recently asked if anyone knew how to set up Java for Star Office
5.2.
Since I got no reply, I assumed no one knew. I have it up and
running now and it actually turns out to be fairly straight forward.
1. Download JDK118_v3-glibc-2.1.2.tar.bz from the Blackdown
Remember, it all depends on what version of glibc or libc you
are running. It has to match. I happen to be using glibc 2.1.3
so I used that one.

Where in the world did you find JDK118_v3-glibc-2.1.2.tar.bz?
The only version currently available is JDK118_v3-glibc-2.1.3.tar.bz.
I
downloaded it, untarred it, it installed perfectly, opened StarOffice,
Bookmarks, Java, Java Setup and ... it said it
