Go ahead and finish the install despite the boot disk and LILO not working, and use loadlin to boot Linux. Then you can go 'head and try installing LILO or making a boot disk manually. If you still can't, you may have to use loadlin indefinitely... if so, I'd suggest editing the msdos.sys
