Hey,
I'm wondering about this subject as well. I've a Diamond Viper
770D with 32MB RAM, using the Riva TnT 2[v5] module. Till
yesterday, I was running some "Other" module, but I'd reset the
Riva in drakcomf had also installed the glide files from CD.
Some games are now fine, but others
Hey Riker,
I'm taking my first stab at messing with the Kernel. Such as
recompiling and then I'm going to compile a new kernel. The
problem I'm having now is that the kernel source wasn't
installed during the install. Is there a way to install the
source kernel so I can do things such as
Hey Marcia,
Try this line:
/mnt/zip /mnt/zip supermount fs=vfat,dev=/dev/zip 0 0
Dear All, I have Linux-Mandrake 7.2 and I had my internal Atapi
zip drive supermounted and it was working fine until recently.
As user all of a sudden I cannot copy a file into my zip. I can

Hey Dennis
Is anyone else noticing that their posts are delayed quit a
long time, like up to 24 hours?
Yeah. Saw last night it took some hours for one. Today, it's
been a little less than that, but still taking a long time.

"I did this 'cause Linux gives me a woody."
Hey,
I will likely be switching my dual-boot from lm7.2 W2k to
lm7.2 W98 (can't get games to find the sound card -- besides I
only use Windows for games). I thought I saw a way to do that in
DrakConf, but now I look can't find what I thought I'd seen.
How would I do that?

Morning,
But how can I run an .exe file in linux??
Only if the app is actually something that runs in Linux. The
extensions, in most cases in Linux, are arbitrary.
In this case, not likely. But again, if you can find a way to
get it to floppy, you may have a chance. If it's not

Hey Vic,
Well I could use wine to run the .exe file or I could dd an
image to a floppy--- I would prefer to dd an image file if
possible.
Any chance that's a dos, as opposed to a Win, executable? Like

Hey,
1) It is possible acceleration for this video card using XFree
4.0 or 4.01?
2) In this case do I need to select an expert installation?
A question for everybody, there is any person that has reached
the acceleration with this video card (Nvidia Riva 128Z) on
Mandrake 7.2?, How?
Morning Paul,
Thanks Paul, but, as you can see here:

alias ls='ls --color=tty'
I've only these two entries under alias. I checked /etc/bashrc
as well. No alias entries at all there.
Highly fascinating. But I can't
Hey,
You know, I remember long ago finding how to turn ~on~ the
command line feature to confirm rm, but I can't find how to turn
it off now lm turnsit on by default. I've been using the -f
option, but would really like to not be prompted at all.
How ~is~ that turned off?

Hey Paul,
I am trying to load Mandrake 7.2 but it doesn't seem
to be able to identify my hard disk. The booklet
mentions Mandrake can partition the HD during
installation. When booting the mandrake CD I get the

I won't claim to know as much about Linux as Civileme, but I've

Hey,
I've been using RH 6.0 for about a year a half now (had used
RH 5.0 on a dual-boot box at a job I'd had when the 5.0 was
released too) will be switching to LM 7.2 (the Complete's on
back-order right now from CheapBytes).
