Sometimes konqueror is a pain in the arse, and I wish LM8.2 still had
netscape as standard install.
I have a download setup using NT which has a standard download
directory : /mnt/ext2-vol6/downloads2, which is a spare partitinion
ext2-vol6, where a main directory downloads2 resides.

Dear all,
Thanks one and all who helped me solve my dual boot (NT/Linux) problems.
NT sucks and had to use the start sectors of my HD - the WinDOS
partition I had created (during Linux install) was at the end...
therefore, I had to blow the whole lot and start again!!! What a

Hello Erick,
I have a similar setup except my drive is 20 Gig.
I installed Windows NT4 on C, Linux Mandrake 7.0 on D partition.
I would recommend creating a second partition. During the installation,
DrakX will tell you that is has found hda which is your entire drive. If
you have 2 partitions,
. Try:
$ man samba
too.

You need to learn how to use Samba.
There is a good how-to at
www.linuxdoc.org
You can also find man pages and

Powerslot Slotted Rotors, Freedom Design Front Strut Tower Brace, TPS Line

The internet doesn't care what OS the machine is running. It should work
with the same gateway, netmask, etc. One only needs samba to be able to

Anyone know how to refer to LAN shares on an NT LAN from Linux? Typically, from
Windows, you would use "\\SERVER\SHARENAME" - In Linux, would you have to mount
it as a drive, or is there another way?
Have you set your proxy to serve all these protocols? What proxy are you
using? If it's a freeware one they sometimes only provide a fraction of
the services you can have with a registered version, (like Sambar at
www.sambar.com).

do you have it configured in the kernel?
First off, the filesystem type should be "ntfs" (note the lowercase
letters). Second, I don't believe the stock Mandrake kernel has NTFS
support- you might look into compiling the module yourself (I assume
it's possible to compile just that one module?)
Other than the all caps "NTFS", your
