I'm working on my first ever install of opensolaris and have stalled before I
even got started. I've searched the internet and see this is a problem but have
been unable to see any resolutions to my problems.

You can do either. Although, in the long run its certainly easier to have the

I had not planned on this having third party support.
I am currently upgrading to 134b. Using the openindiana legacy source. I plan
to test and see how this runs, and then choose whether to move forward or
completely to openindiana at this point.
I am mostly sure I will be sticking with 134b
I guess another question is, if I am successful with 134b, it is of course
still unstable release. How much do i need to worry about that? I have seen
a fair amount of people on the internet stating they run solidly on 134b.
I am strictly using this as a data storage server and ZFS is my

After working with OpenSolaris, I have considered moving to OpenIndiana or

Basically, I am using OpenSolaris 2009.06. And I would like to move forward to

What is the general consensus on which way to go?
Can I patch up 2009.06 effectively and run on 134b?
I have recently built a system using and LSI Logic 9280-16i4e.
I have installed Opensolaris and it recogizes the card ok. Although it stated

This is resolved.
I created some disk groups on the controller card, and they were presented to

I am now spending my time learning how to use the zfs/zpool commands :D
