G'day folks,
Okie this might seem like a daft question...
Can anyone confirm if a CD created from tracks in a WMA lossless format
(originally ripped using Windows Media Player 10.0) has the same audio
quality as that of the tracks from the original CD? For example, if I use
either WMP 10
I thought I'd try the experiment of comparing WMA Lossless to AACPluss, and,
maybe, of ripping CDs to WMA, for archiving. However, as I look through the
options in the latest Easy CD-DA extractor, I see .WMA 9.1, but no .WMA
Lossless. Am I missing something?
Blessed Be,
Dana
that's
Ah. I'm slowely learning about all this stuff. I'm a slow learner but I
catch on quickly.

Hi,
There is a loss-less format of .WMA not just .WMA in general. The one you
are speaking of is lossy and not lossless.

Hi Andre.
The answer to your question is - yes, WMA lossless is exactly that -
completely free of any compression or psycho-acoustic dabbling. The sound
quality is identical to that provided by the equivalent WAV file but the
file size is smaller due to what is known as lossless compression
ctually I hear artifacting in wma files at 128kbps. How could that be
losless?

Hi Andre.
The answer
Hi all
With all the discussions about cbr and vbr, I have another question dealing
with the same type of issue.
And again the answer may differ from person to person most probably!
Is wma lossless really lossless where the quality of music is concerned?
Just curious.
Andre
