I have a different suggestion. Get yourself a Pentax F 35-70mm. It is inexpensive because it is plentiful (being the kit lens on earlier AF Pentax film cameras. But it is a good lens in its own right and has a macro/closeup function that is very useful. It is not a fast lens, but great for daytime
