Gunners Mate who was killed in action in Vietnam. His heroic actions

then had to export into PSE5 to make a jpg small enough for the web.
It was a dreary day and I was having problems with my monitor

opportunity to photograph him up close and personal and it was an

pretty foolproof BUT, my results are really no better.
My problem is that when I used the monitor controls to try to make the
screen match a good print, I cannot get the intensity level low

printer. My 2400 manual says if the print is to dark, one probably has

Matt, I agree the n would be a good choice. I do know a little about film
flatness issues when I had my 645. I believe I found the secret was to not
shoot too fast. On several occasions when I would shoot a fast sequence,
several, if not all, of the shots would be in varying degrees of

In all truthfullness, I did some glass plate work, at Mt Palomar. They were
14 x 17 and 8x8 I believe. And believe it or not, they were very thin
I has a 645 outfit that I used for weddings for 15 years. Over that period I
never had to return the camera for any repairs although it had really been
abused several times with hard falls on concrete!! Picture and exposure
quality never changed so I kept shooting.
I did get several sour looks

Toralf, I used to use Rodinal many years ago and found that even when the
concentrate turned pretty dark it was still usable. However, once it durns
dark black it is probably shot.
I mostly used it when in a moderate climate and my darkroom was in a
semi-basement so the temps were seldom over
Re: the thread on the Maxtor. Several folks indicated that they wanted the
WD version.
I bought one from Amazon just before GFM for a little over 100.00. They had
one listed that I did not see til later that also included a case, but I
don't see it now.
