So there is a good chance they aren’t feeding directly on the feathers and
skin. They are more likely feeding on the molds and fungi that has grown on the
surfaces of them due to the humid environment. That’s not to say they aren’t
limited to mold and fungi as a food source however.

see towards its rear remnants of bristles that come to a point, or cross
together. Odd beetles have a bit more of a uniform bristle around the perimeter
of the body along with a telltale “mustache” or push broom at
