Philippe,
First, I want to thank you for all your hard work on developing products
that support the LMS/squeezebox system. Of course, it is not just you
but there are many others that volunteer their own time to contribute.
You have every right to be annoyed when someone complains in the manner

Michael and Ralphy, thanks for explaining codec. I hope now get it.
The encoding ability (which was never used in the hardware) was removed,
but the decoding ACC was retained and updated.
Thanks again!

At my office, the WiFi router was turned off for several days while I
was away. After turning the router back on, the SB Radio would not
reconnect to my WiFi network. Attempts to use repair network failed.
Attempts to select and connect to the WiFi network failed. I rebooted
the radio. It
The SB Radio at my office has been exhibiting strange behavior since,
yesterday, when I installed the recent firmware Version 8.0.1 r16867. I
typically use mysqueezebox.com instead of running LMS on the work
computer as I mostly listen to a jazz radio station.
After coming back from lunch, in

When I do comparisons I use ABx testing. This means there are three
samples, and two are identical, ie A=x or B=x. I have to determine
which two samples are the same. If I cannot do that, then I conclude my
perception about hearing a difference, or tasting bottle differences in
wine, is wrong.

Lets hope so! :)

I am also interested is streaming service that works with LMS, but the
focus is on ease of use. Of course "ease of use" is subjective. For
many people on this forum with their technical skills, all might
considered easy to them!I have done the ABx listening tests so
lossless or 64 bit at a

I figured out the problem. On LMS 8.1.1 running on PcP 8.0.0, under the
Settings>Plugin tab, the Community Firmware box was checked, and I had
restarted LMS. However, looking at the debug log it was looking to

I am trying to install the community firmware on two of my SB radios
One Radio already has it installed.
I am running PcP on a 3b+ version 8.00. LMS 8.1.1. Yes, the Community
firmware plug-in box is checked and I restarted LMS.
I tried unchecking the Community firmware plugin, restart LMS,

Double check that the Community Firmware is a Enabled plugin.
The Radio has second menu location for a software update under:
Settings>Advanced>Diagnostics>Software Update

I am not sure if this belongs here, so it it belongs somewhere else, let
me know.
I have an SB Radio on firmware 8.0.1-r16835. When I returned to my
office, one of my Red Radio's wifi had the red symbol so it was not
connected. My other Back Radio four feet away was fine. I have had

I have heard the Material Skin is great so I wanted to give it a try.
There is a learning curve to figure out where stuff is located, but that
should be expected.
I copy a podcast to a podcast music folder, and then play it using the
music folder option. This avoids having to rescan for a

I was reading through the thread to find what improvements or issues are
resolved by installing the community firmware update. It was not until
post#130 that I found a link to a list:

I recommend the first post be edited to
I am moving from a SB classic3 to the Touch so I need a new IR Blaster
configuration file to control my Rotel RSP-1098. The file above from
epoch1970 works, except for the volume control. I downloaded the
WinLIRC program to create the file, read the information, but I am
having zero success. I

source code (or an aux input).
Voskuh and epoch1970, apparently you got it to work with a rotel gear.
Could you post the file witht he right codes?
Thanks
