Thanks jarome - looks like SqueezeCenter is going to be a necessity to
make XM Radio work. Guess Logitech isn't going to pursue adding it to

Has there been any progress on this issue of XM Radio and Squeezebox?
My father is interested in dumping his XM boombox (with satellite
antenna) and finding something to feed XM into his home stereo system
and saving the spece the boombox is taking up in his shelf.
I have a SB and a Boom so am i
I'm using SC 7.3.4 on an XP machine withe the default web interface. The

I have installed XM Radio Online Plugin 3.2 on SqueezeCenter 7.3.3, and
it "Sort Of" works. I have the XM Radio Online menu item under Internet
Radio,
and I can enter a channel number, like 70 for Real Jazz and 78 for
Symphony Hall. Hallelujah!
I can also enter the URL like xmradio://70 and add i

Just to confirm - you are able to access your subscription from a home
computer going through xmradio.com? Also, you have the premium radio
subscription from them and can switch to high def listening on

I installed the most recent XM plug in and it appears to work. I see it
on the squeezebox and on squeezecenter, but whenever I try to use it, I
timeout and can't connect. I am trying to connect with high bandwidth
and I would assume that is ok. Does anyone have a similar problem or a
suggestion.
Well, it was cheaper than buying a stand-alone XM tuner for our house
and getting yet another XM subscription . . . . :)

The XM Radio Online plugin is now available for general download here:

It works with Squeezecenter 7.3.2, 7.3.3 and 7.4, on Windows, Linux and
MAC, and supports all the Squeezebox devices.

just went back "live" about 9PM Pacific for me.
I had emailed XM today about the poor stream quality and dropouts -
they claim they are working on "upgrades to the system" over the next 48
hours.
Not sure if that's a usual party line, I guess we'll see.

others. I'm getting them even through the xm online browser interface,

* Menus - both software and on the Boom work great
* Sound is excellent (using the high-bitrate stream)
* All channels are tune-able, and can be saved as favorites.

One more quick update... I turned on sync'ing between two booms and to
my great surprise it seems to be working. This was definitely not the
case with the old version, and is of huge benefit to me.
I did experience one stop/drop this morning where I had to restart,
hopefully will be rare, but I

station as a favorite by specifying the station's number with the

I made some changes to the XMRadio Online Plugin and have it working on
Squeezecenter 7.3.2 with the Duet Controller and the Web interface. It
works on Windows and Linux and sounds good with the Premium account
@128kbps.

On a Mac, the Pulsar application (RogueAmoeba.com) works very nicely on
your Mac, but obviously will not send the stream out. And the new XM

I did nothing special to enable this. Should be a top level menu choice,
after Music Library. Nice thing about it, is it provides you with a well
compiled list of radio stations, including those in your local market. I
just made all of the ones I like favorites.

I listen to XM religiously in the car, and it was a real nice little
extra benefit to be able to rebroadcast it through my Squeezecenter to
my SqueezeBoxes... I had stayed on 6.x for a long time so there was no
issue. But like the rest of you I have been eagerly awaiting a fix for
this under 7.3..
I read that SeriousXM is going to start charging for internet use (3
dollars/month, i think). This along with the lack of support from
slimdevices or anyone els will like end the use over my Squeezebox for
me.

being played on your computer to your SB, including the XM web player.
Not as convenient as having a working XM plug-in, but it will save you
having to connect your PC to your stereo.

Squeezenetwork that require the 7.3 firmware to play Rhapsody. Not a
problem if you don't subscribe to Rhapsody, but you have to wonder what

My setup is much simpler: a SBB (acronym city!) in the kitchen; running
SC off a ReadyNAS. The XM Plugin is a "must have" for me - just love it.
So I'll wait a bit for 7.3.

Same symptoms as you, Howard, although the plugin worked OK on my setup
under 7.2 after the fix by Billie Bob (Or was it Philf?). Anyway, if
