The initial attempt spins forever. The attempt after "cancel connect"

I just updated from the Play store and the update says it's from Feb 1,
2019. In "about" the app says it's 2.1.2, copyright 2015.
Do I have the update? Does this update address the outstanding Bluetooth
audio control issue?

Problem is that the app doesn't work at all. Only thing I get is an
error message: "Unfortunately, Squeeze Ctrl has stopped."
