my system just auto upgraded PERL last light to 5.28.3-0077 and broke
LMS 8.1.1. I did a google search for "synology perl 5.24.0-0074 spk"
which took me to a synology package archive. I'd post the link but this
is my first post and it won't let me. :mad: Once I grabbed this archive
But I'm sure if we could squeeze in another LmsUpdate release (if that
would solve the Perl 5.28 compatibility?), there would be plenty of
downloaders. Synology are also still updating DSM 6.2 :-)

The DS220+ is equipped with a Celeron J4205 processor. To the best of my
knowledge you can run LMS in a Docker container on this one. If
possible, I recommend to return the DS220J and replace with a DS220+.

ports were set to 'Auto' so I changed them to explicitly be the same as
the Container Ports. When pushing the 'Apply' button I get this message:

My DSM uses port 5000 and 5001.
Go to DSM's Docker manager, shut down the container (if it's running at
all). Edit the container. On the Ports page make sure Local Port and
Container Port are the same.

Hmmm maybe try in host mode instead..
I had to use host mode as with bridge mode and pinkdot's package (even
when stopped) I wasn't able to add any players to this lms instance.
Eventually after while I uninstalled package and got it working in
bridge mode.

Thanks man. Helped here as well. Went into file station and changed
permissions for all to read/write including sub-dirs. Now the folders

It should be perfectly possible to continue using LMS as it is but only
as long as you don't update the Synology OS to DSM 7 and don't update
the Perl package in DSM beyond 5.24 (you can turn off auto-updates).

I face a problem with LMS 8. If a folder contains an "unknown" filetype
it is not possible to select the folder to be played!
As easy example I have some bought music from Amazon, which comes with
all single tracks and one file, which is called "continous mix.mp3".

You have to uninstall the LMS package in Package Center to be able to

OK it needs to be something with Docker folder permissions then..
I bet if you can sort that, host mode will run fine and you will be
sorted..
Give me a minute as I don't remember correct procedure to change
permissions.. IT might be just in DSM or in SSH with root account.. Cant
remember :/
