Thanks Chuck, you suggested re the HD with the blinking ? floppy. Sounds to me like you do not have the SCSI ID set to 0 (first device). And it also sounds like you have the external set to the start up or the floppy set as STARTUP DISK in control Panel. That is where I would start looking
