PBs 5300/190 will run fine from a Li-ion battery but as you mention will not charge inside. Runtime on a 5300 with a Li-ion battery can be simply amazing. I tested a 3400 battery in a 5300cs and IIRC got over 6 hours (with _no_HD_ spindown and _no_ backlight dimming!!) before the battery

hi I had this problem with the modem in my 540 do you know weather it is a geoport express modem. if so set it to internal in the control panel and turn it to pulse dial then turn the sound off (for some reason this worked in my 540c) hope it works for you good luck -- PowerBooks
