Hi,
Has anyone found a firmware upgrade for a 3Com 56k Global 3CCM156. All I
could find on USR/3Com's site is a .exe file. How are you supposed to do a
firmware upgrade with a Windows executable file?
Any help would be vastly appreciated.

I have the 3com 3cxm756 56k pc card modem. Funny thing

Just found a local dealer and they're even cheaper than the listed price on

I don't care about the modem part, but very badly need the enet, if

At least for the hacked driver I (sort of) support, since it's based on the

I tried the driver you have on your website. It didn't work either. I don't
know what is the problem. I suppose it could be a bad card. It did put it on
the desktop, but it wouldn't work. I really don't know what to do now. I
guess drop back 10 and punt.
Be more specific with 'wouldn't work'.

There was speculation earlier as to whether or not it was possible the
card was bad despite being fully recognized by the computer, which is
why I was reluctant to track down a PC laptop to test the setup with. I
can still do that.
Since I'm maintaining the 3C589 1400 driver, I'd love to

It's a no go. I now have two different 3Com 10Bt dongles that match my

no link light.
Attempted with two different known-good Cat5 cables (not crossover) into
a good port on my router.

I'm beginning to think the card is at fault, even though it mounts fine
on the desktop and appears OK
Even if the drivers aren't working you should get a link light when you
first hook the cables up, I think. It would then go OUT perhaps but at
first connect to a powered up it should work.
Sounds like the card is dead to me, or you still have wrong cables. You

The 3Com card shows on the Desktop and I was able to input my TCP/IP under

The card he's talking about is a rebadged USR modem not a network card.
