AFAIK, you can't. smtpd only produces the IP addresses/hostnames, and it's own
pid. The IP addresses are passed to qmail-send through environment, I
think, but they're not logged. (it wouldn't be that useful for
cross-references, anyway)

On the box that we have here, every six hours a cron script goes into the
send log directory and grabs all the non-current logs. It then concatenates
them into on and sends them through a couple of components of qmailanalog.

multilog, running under the supervise and tcpserver daemons). Do most people
rotate them and have old ones automatically erased, or do you archive them
for later usage, or even weirder do many people just leave

There are two reporting programs that I know of. qmail-mrtg (v0.1 and then
v1.0, developed by different people I think but still the same project), and
The mrtg make it easier to tune a email system. You can tell which hubs are
being overload and which ones are not. btw qmail-mrtg-1.1 is going to
contain abunch more graphs (CPU utilization, Load Averages, pop connections,
smtp connections).. As for logs right now, on some of my customers systems
given to me by [EMAIL PROTECTED] :
This appears to be a problem with the older versions of the
qmail+patches RPM. To fix it, you need to stop and start svscan.

It seems I'm havimg mostly the same problem that Goran Blazic described
a few months ago in a thread called " No log?". In a nutshell, after
installing qmail i've got no logging activity from anything
Mail-related.

outgoing messages by modifying the extra.h file, but it is possible to target
only certain accounts to do the backup on? This box has multiple virtual
domains and one of them wants to track incoming and outgoing only for certain
accounts.
