Well, i traced qmail-start and found that /var/qmail must have executable

Hi!
I've just installed qmail 1.03 in a Solaris 2.6 server. I followed every
step from "Life with qmail" but when I try to start qmail, something goes
wrong: qmail-start daemon never starts. It's called from the run script
invoked in /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-send, /var/

Try:
exec env - PATH="/var/qmail/bin:$PATH" \
qmail-start ./Mailbox splogger qmail
That trailing \ helps...

You probably don't need to reinstall. Just remove that command from
your .bashrc,

I have followed both LWQ and the how-to and have checked permissions

Sorry for the repost, something's goofy over here and I wasn't sure if the
original made it.
After a recent reboot, logging is no longer functioning, and qmail-start
just sits there, a zombie process. I need logging to work, and I can't
figure this out, help!

Well, I recently rebooted my machine (don't ask why, long story), and all of
the sudden, there's no logging, and qmail-start is listed as a
defunct/zombie process if I ps ax | grep qmail as root.
Any ideas what's going on here? I'm running under supervise.

We are looking to implement quotas on a new qmail farm, and I just want to
make sure that my approach will work:
The courier-imap folks have the delivery agent invoked from qmail start to
the effect of:
'| /usr/local/bin/deliverquota ./Maildir 100S'
in qmail-start for a default

In order to get logging and control to work one
has to put the script for the logging portion (the stuff after
the pipeline (|) symbol) in the log subdirectory
of the directory that contains the run script for the
qmail-start command and then use svscan to connect
the two:

Hi there,
I have a question to someone who is familar with the qmail-start
internals. I changed my rc file of qmail in a way, that
qmail-start is piping all its information to my own accounting parser.

Would it make sense if someone added a small

Why bother supporting qmail when such basic
questions go unanswered ?
