I use WEP 64, the key is you need to type in the passphrase as hex not
as a word. (like the previous poster says).
I also had to type in my network name I think the first time. (I can't
remember anymore).
I have absolutely no problem with WEP 64 and the Squeezebox. 100%
signal too!

You should take back whatever is making you use WEP.
WEP is trivial to break in less than a minute ... meaning it offers as
much security as duct taping your front door shut intsead of using a
lock.
Turn off security or use WPA2/AES. Anything else is trivial

There are thousands of other devices out there that are WEP only. Many

The issue that I have with you is that you don't acknowledge that
Logitech has an issue to fix. There have been several posts about WEP
not working.
I'm pretty sure that the problem could be recreated and fixed.
Instead of politely coaxing additional details that would help make
this happen,

There is insufficent information to state that.
Again, is the problem with people typing PASSPHRASES instead of keys?
Maybe you should get your facts straight instead of trying childish

As you can see from other posts in this thread, other users have had WEP
issues on the SB Radio which may or may not be addressed by newer
firmware.

My radio works with WEP. It took me a little fiddling to get it going
because I am quite ignorant about these things. I had my router set to
hide the SSID, in addition to WEP and MAC filtering.
First I had to read the instructions to realize that I had to translate
my WEP password into hex. Once

Have you done the initial setup and software update? I remember having

FWIW, I'm running 128 Bit WEP on SB radio with no issue on connection.
Perhaps Sad but true.

I think that the bottom line here is that if the device is supposed to
support WEP then it needs to. Logitech should be trying to gather data
from him in an attempt to get this working.
Just because it's an old protocol that is easily hacked doesn't mean
that they should only make a 1/2 effort
If I move to a newer security protocol then my oldest Squeezebox device
will need to be abandoned as it only supports WEP.
I can connect fine with Ethernet and have updated the firmware but
still no luck with Wireless. Any other suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.

I just got my Squeezebox Radio and set it up with Ethernet 1ST then
after using it a little tested the wireless and I put in the 64-Bit WEP
key and it did a cereal and connected very good.
O yes on 1st start up it said it had a update and took about 3 min. to
download and install it.

I recently purchased the Squeezebox radio as my third squeezebox device.
Other 2 devices work fine wirelessly.
This device will not connect with Wep security turned on. I spent 1.5
hours on the phone with a technician who knew very little about
networking/device/etc?
I can connect if I turn all
I run WEP 64 without issue. Your troubles sound vaguely familiar - I
remember having trouble on initial startup of the Radio because this
radio wasn't behaving the same way as my Squeezebox V3 and my Boom.
When you go to mysqueezebox.com and look at your players does it appear
as connected? If
