This is obviously an instance of YMMV, but Brooks handlebar tape is,

that it was poorly made, but it was just incredibly uncomfortable for

Hi, Folks,
I am an old guy (almost 64) and just finished my second year of cycling.
I put in 4200 miles last year on a carbon frame bike which I like, but I'm
looking around for something more comfortable for longer rides and light
touring. I ran across the Rivendells a couple of months ago. I
As far as I know Grant Petersen designed every aspect of it, so it should
have similar ride quality to a Hillborne. It's just a slightly lighter,
more road oriented version that takes smaller tires. You can get them
directly from Rivendell or from Soma but they'd probably build them with
It doesn't matter if it's a true Rivendell. Grant designed it, apparently
without compromise, so I assume it will be similar in ride quality to other
bikes Grant designed in recent years. I assume the fit will be similar to that
of the Hillborne, but probably faster, more sprightly handling.
I'm reposting this with hopes of greater response because it's a cool
and interesting topic.
This subject of 'every day carry' is one of which I've been slightly
obsessed.

Amit,
I agree this is a cool and interesting topic, but also one that makes me a

bikes in the manner of a connoisseur rather than just a rider, and if my

I want a Funny Boy rear rack!
