That totally depends on the location and type or rack, bag, and cable run. You don't have to have a drop down cable stop in your headset stack, you can use a Tektro 1277A fork mounted cable stop w/adjuster which allows a solid cable run just like a caliper brake. V-brakes are no more a solution
