I've used the Origin8 110 bcd double silver crank arms for a number of years. They're sold as arms only, about $50-60 and come in 170mm as well as a whole bunch of other lengths. They're labelled as single speed but the arm mount tabs are for double rings, so you can use either position for a

The Platy also has longer wheelbase which help smooth the ride. To be fair, I probably have better tires on my Platy than on the Chev I tested, and tires make a difference in the ride quality, as I've come to appreciate this past year. For the Cheviot, it must be a pretty nice bike, too,

The 55 Platy is a big (LONG) bike (wheelbase 47.25 if I recall), so if she's on the cusp, go smaller. I'm an 83 pbh, 5'7" and it fits me fine. Leah is a touch shorter in pbh and height and it's OK for her. My other bike is a 54.5 AHH to help give you size info. I fit it, but barely. Any
