After the
last update, kernel 2.4.20-20, atalk will not stay running, This makes it hard
for
mac users to use the server, Anyone got any Ideas

Why can’t I get the fqdn
on my box?
The man hostname says
The complete FQDN of the system is returned with
hostname --fqdn.
But when I do it I just get the hostname

Instructor about this last week and he thinks
it was something else not related to rhnsd.
I also know that RedHat will setup a local server solution if you have a
lot of machines and don't like the huge bandwidth hit when updates are
downloaded automatically.

If I put

into /etc/crontab I don’t see the work hello on the screen
every minute.

a PC that doesn't exhibit this problem. On the problem
PC's, the same mingetty processes are out there for tty1, tty2, tty3 etc...
I know it's a long-shot but wondering if anyone else has ever encountered
this somewhat bizarre problem.

I am having the same problem with my Compaq 2500.
Using 2.4.7-10 I see all 160 Meg of my memory.
Using 2.4.9-13 I only see 12 Meg.
I'm using grub. My grub.conf kernel line looks like:

I am installing a Maxtor 60GB udma drive in my Pentium MMX 233 system and am going to
put RH7.0 or 7.1 on it. The thing is the current drive is a 6GB with win98se/plus and
rather than reinstalling &*(*^*&* windoze, I'd like to create a 6gb partition and use

I got the error "delaying eth0 initailization"
why won't the ethernet card work?

Versa 33) using network installation via PLIP (the parallel interface).
