I have an Epson 1650 (no photo), and after DAYS of googling, just one
line fixed my USB problem.
In /etc/modules.conf, and "alias usb-controller usb-uhci" (that is
assuming your MOBO is UHCI).
If it works, you will see stuff in a new "directory" in the /proc/bus
"directory" called "usb".
This "d
telnet.
Thats all I'm saying. I'm not having any problem the why it works...

I'm trying to get my Epson 1650 USB scanner working, BUT...
I *think* RH 8.0 doesn't detect my USB chip correctly.
I have a ASUS A7V133 MOBO that has the VIA VT82C686B South Bridge chip.
I *think* the VIA chips are UHCI, but I *think* the OHCI driver is trying
to load (and fails).

I downloaded
I'm running RH 8.0 (2.4.18-19.8.0).
When I run "System Settings > Soundcard Detection", the system displays
the following:
Vendor: VIA Technologies
Model : VT82C686 AC97 Audio Controller
Module: via82cxxx_audio
BUT, the "Play test sound" does nothing... no sounds.
