selecting it.

also, I got the modem working...but not the way it should be,
and when it connects, its connection speed is intermittent...and

From what I see below, this stanza is booting win98:

in order to boot to the scsi drive i have to unplug (ide drive)...
then reset the bios on reboot...then if i want to reboot back onto
Just thought of something here...
sda1 is the device link...if I change it to sda...it would be the wrong
device.

Have you checked /etc/fstab to see if it's listed in there? If you are
concerned about dual booting, I suggest that you concern yourself with the
lilo setup (unless this is redhat 7.2 you're using grub).
What device is it? /dev/sd{a,b,c,d}
do a dmesg | more to see if the kernel found the

okay, I'm using my laptop so I can send/receive emails while i do
this...
I did what you said...and got the following message , in a terminal:
wrong fs type, bad option,bad superblock on /dev/sda or too many
mounted filesysytems
what do I do now?

Um, generally, if there's any partition information on a device, you'll have to
specify it:
mount -t vfat

ok...didn't get any error messages...when i did the rerun of lilo...but

changes in booting selections...when I rebooted, all i see...is text
messages displayed while it boots.
perhaps i should shutdown completely, instead of just rebooting.

I shutdown completelythen restarted the machine...
when i seen the screen with the redhat blue screen giving the selections
for booting
it gave the following two selections:
linux
dos
so I chose dos when I did this...
it changed to a black screen and at the top said
