A common trick with some other manufacturers' software is to enter out-of-band frequencies while holding down the SHIFT key... for example, 147.330 would be entered as !$&.##) (not sure about the decimal point - some programs insert it automatically, others don't use one). You might give that

A friend of mine ran into the same issue with some UHF Fujitsus. Couldn't get them below 450.000. He wound up changing the master reference crystal. However, the results were not particularly useful as the channel spacing was no longer exactly 5 kHz anymore and the five meg offset was wrong

Both Mitreks and Mastr II's have great audio. Mitreks tend to drift around a little due to direct FM modulation, but not a big deal on 6 Meters. My repeater transmitter is a Mitrek with 5 Watts output driving an old Motorola tube PA to 400 Watts. The radio runs cool without any fans that way...

I don't think I've ever seen an amplifier along a leaky coax system. Since the holes in the coax are 2-way, the downstream amp would also amplify anything that leaked INTO the coax before it. That would cause lots of interference as well as oscillation from the output of the amp to the input. No

That would depend on the frequency. All coaxial cables including radiax type cables have specific attenuation loss figures per 100 feet published...You need to determine the initial power, the amount of loss allowed before re-amplifying, then the amplifier gain added and losses to the next hop.
