I am still looking for a service manual / system index for the RCA Series 700
and/or Series 1000 mobile radios in the 50 MHz bands (VHF low band). Any help

The PSE 508 is an excellent controller. I highly recommend its use with your
GE repeater system. It is specifically designed for the GE Mastr II repeater
station. I wish we'd had these controllers some years ago when I was working
in the commercial two-way business.

You are correct. 50 & 100 watts. You are safe if you have a 100
watt speaker but it will not take long to fry a 50 Watt if you get it

Changing the cables will help alot since you are 20 MHz off. You would have an
easier time if your cans were in the 150-155 MHz range.
But a good way to be sure is to just test one cavity by its self and see if you
can make spec at your frequency.

know your cables velocity factor to do the calculations. Do not forget to

You still have the problem of VoIP not passing audio above 5 kHz
Instead of taking a S-Meter reading you need to convert the amount of
high frequency noise to a PL tone. Basicly build a SuperSquelch-IIIB
and use a 9400 voltage to frequency converter on the "S-Meter" pin.

Icom was good back in the 80's, But their latest stuff is garbage! The
T-81 will drain a battery in 4 hours wether it is on or off. And the
other dual band hand held is the desence king.
