Eric,
Impedance matchers don't give you a matched system in a minute or
so. They just match one side to the other. Example, a radio
connected to a duplexer that doesn't present a 50 ohm load to the
transmitter, for what ever reason. The matcher makes the radio see
a 50 load or what ever, from

John, did you put a pull up resistor on the open collector out put?
If you didn't, youll never get it to work. I would start with a 10k
resistor one side to to the open collector the other to a source of
logic say, +5V or +12V. This point will go to ground during squelch
or open squelch.

John, That should work, but what are you trying to do? I hooked up
the CS64 so that CAS from the receiver would turn on the encode this
encodes only when the receiver is active. All the receiving station
hears is the QSO no squelch crash or ID.

It seems a lot of the complaints are from oscillator drift and
tuning drift. I have a few questions Does anyone know if the main
problem resides in the exciter, or the power amp? My plan would
eliminate all problems related to the oscillator because the Tx and

After all the wornings from the group, and the offer of a great ham

involved all the way up the chain of command.
Here is another Hist involving NEXTEL. Walt Disney World will turn
