new tubes for it. A customer where I used to work had a lowband Motrac
base that needed tubes. I priced them out at the time (around 1994-5)
and found it would cost us nearly $1000 for the two tubes. You might
find used ones cheaper, but.
How did they intend to address tuning of the duplexer?

I'd sure like to know where you're gettin the idea that 2M is
'underutilized'! Everywhere I've been (in the US), there's plenty of
repeaters. Most areas there's too many!

Doesn't matter-in fact a repeater that's tied up all day with chatter
isn't available for emergency communications. Plus the more time it
spends keyed up, the less time till something fails.

Even if it's digital, if you keep the squelch on edge, it should still
open, it'll just sound like white noise.
A spectrum analyzer would, of course, be better, since you can see all
the freqs at the same time.

ling whenever both were up. No doubt in my mind that if the Spectrum
had been replaced with a Micor or MII, the problem would've gone away.
Instead, I think it got pulled for other reasons. Nothing has been on
that pair for years.

doesn't like it, all they can do is get a different trustee, if the club
owns the equipment. If the club doesn't own the equipment, they can get
their own equipment and put up a different repeater.
