Does anybody have any ideas A) how I can persuade the flac converter to

Cannot remember where I found it, but once your CD is ready to rip if
you click on the MP3 icon on the left it should auto convert to the
level of FLAC conversion you have selected. Works for me.

Also it appears that many of the artwork folders lost the jpg suffix in

Just Installed but have not tried yet. I did notice the MP3 button that

le in FLAC and click encode the GUI flashes on the screen for just a
split second. Nothing happens and there is no error message. I was able

way. If you are concerned about tag changes being the same just copy the

I was trying to delete it incorrectly. It's now gone.
They are FLAC files. The WAVEFORM portion made me think it was somehow
connected to a WAV file. But they are not WAV.

It sounds as if you are searching with the artist field. You could use
the artist field and name official releases for example "The Band" for
the album Music From Big Pink. Then name bootlegs "The Band bootlegs"
for The Lonestar Cafe 1986 for that show. In this way they will show as
a separate art

Thanks. I think I have it figured out now. I removed the check mark from
the show messages after save box under Tools/Options/Messages. That
solved the pesky message dialog box from appearing.
I had been editing using the Tag Panel. I tried the in line metod after

Just tried that by changing the filename to tag string to title rather
than album and batch converted a whole album in one shot. Works pretty
nice as long as the filename is what one wants in the title field.
I just wish their Help section was more helpful. It appears to be geared
towards people

I copied a folder to play w the action group tip. In the title field I
always put a track number prior to the title of the track. This
resulted in double numbers in the Filename field.

Very interesting. I never knew this was there.
I just loaded my library into MP3tag and it showed 30683. LMS shows
30722. This is not really a big deal. I am just trying to understand why
the numbers in LMS change when I do not add or delete tracks. I was
hoping that I would be pointed to something in my tagging process that
was preventing LMS

found one m3u,one cue and 2 folder files-album covers which I deleted. I
also found a bunch of text files but after copying and pasting the to a
different folder could not delete them.

Now I understand. I had not been posting about the daily changes I have

I run a new & changed scan nightly. I have done a clean cache including
media library database, artwork cache etc. several times in the last
week. I find that to be less than informative as I am not able to see
anything happening and then need to do a complete rescan.

This still baffles me. Yesterday LMS control panel showed 30,690 total
tracks. During the course of the day I deleted one folder that I found
to be a duplicate. It contained 9 tracks. This morning the total is
30,701. There has to be something that triggers these changes that I
still do not unders
I was contemplating changing the album/artist field and the composer
field to blank. I never myself entered anything in either of those 2
fields.

I ran across a new problem this morning while reviewing tags. I loaded a
folder into Mp3Tag and attempted to make some changes to the files. The
folder has 10 files but with 3 of them it says that they cannot be
accessed. I checked the properties and full control was not assigned to
the folder. Th

I have been working on cleaning up my tags. I noticed in the Squeezeplay
wiki this morning that it is recommended that one remove ID3v1 tags.
Does anyone know why ?
When I looked at Mp3tag-Tools-Options-Tags-MPEG I noticed that both
ID3v1 and ID3v2 were selected for Read, Write and Remove. I have
I spot checked some folders that contain only FLAC files and it appears
that the tags are only FLAC (FLAC). At least that is all that shows in

Thanks for the ideas. Having a backup before doing the revision is
something I sometimes forget. The filter search is a good idea as well.
I am currently using that to add artwork in places where it is missing.
When done w that will proceed w the ID3v1 filter.

I finally got to the point where I was comfortable updating my backup
before attempting to remove the ID3v1 tags. Deleted the backup and
copied over my library last night through this morning so I now have a
"cleaner" backup.
It appears that there may have been a step missing. After hitting the
I thought it strange as well. The files that had ID3v1 tags also had the
ID3v3.2 tags along w the ID3v1. ID3v.1 was the only checked box in the
remove field. At least I was able to get through it and thank goodness
for the undo button ! Will be curious to see how scans go moving
forward.
