Are you speaking about clear glass containers or ones that have patterning
on them? Lead or something in a glaze can certainly leach into the water
but I cannot imagine clear glass leaching anything. Are they colored glass?

Years ago the government had a program like this called Carnivore. When
they began to use it there was an uproar and supposedly they shut it down.
