If you want to make CS gel, why not consider using
Agar, which is derived from seaweed? Safe, non-toxic
and perfect for topical application.

in pure distilled water -- say, water with 5ppm dissolved solids or less -- the

get the finished CS in about 30 minutes ...
constant result-quality every time.
Cost? Only the price of the .999 silver, three 9-volt batteries, an
inexpensive volt-meter and a cheap red-laser pen ... and distilled water.
