It's been two days since Temple Hill's SmAC Combat Contest and I can still
feel the wind in my face and hear the cheers and cries of "Heads up!"
The SmAC was a HUGE success. When I said it was going to be the "Biggest
Damn Combat Contest of All Time," I was half joking. We were all surprised

it does seem kinda silly how things work with formating contest's. seems like no body
is happy.. i like the randon man on man, that
keeps eveyone flying against everyone. then the question is? when they normalize for
class how come when you move up a class, you
can't take your points?
Bill, was the plane you were riding in 2400m above the lake or is that how tall
the hill is? Pretty big for a hill!

this to me is:
a) not from the aspect of my ever having run such a format, since I have not,
b) not because I have advocated such a format, since I do not
c) not because as an RMSA CD I might choose such a format, si

I'm looking to connect and share info and ideas from club leaders around the
country.
We (Temple Hill Slope Squadron), are a relatively new club, that is growing
very quickly and we want to avoid growing pains. I am hoping to solicit
advice and wisdom from experienced and mature clubs.

I had a similar problem when I had to start wearing glasses. I took
along my favourite Ray Ban pilots glasses and my optician matched them
exactly (blue grey colour). I advice that you also get them UV protected
as this will help avoid cataracts.

Sorry I just can't stay silent any longer.
Over the years I've seen a lot of CD's try many different (and some
unusual) formats in the interest of "even-ing out the field" or
"de-emphasizing the landing" or some other choice piece of bull crap
that they invent to pleasure themselves. The guys who

actualy cost me to zero a round at the nats as a contact dried and moved on
my eye and I had to hand the transmitter off. ) Plus your vision is better

The other day I was flying with two flying buddies. the day was pretty nice,
thermals popping all around, getting 5-10 min flights mostly with my Lil Bird
2m. finally I launched and the model veered slowly to the right, correction
did not help, and within seconds it was heading straight down!
